VIDEO: Profile of Natalie Walker
Tatnall field hockey player Natalie Walker is this week's WDEL Female High School Athlete of the Week.

Natalie scored two goals in the Hornets' 3-1 victory over St. Mark's last week.

While it was a big win for a Tatnall program that already has more wins (7) than they had in 2010 (6), Natalie says they're taking things a game at a time.

"We need to play every game like it's the most important, and the next one's most important. We worked so hard, and everyone worked really well together."

Another key to the Hornets turnaround are stronger bond with her teammates according to Natalie.

"We've all meshed together, we're basically a family. We work really well together. I think because our relationships are so good off the field, it makes us good on the field."

For Natalie's favorite athlete, she looks no further than her coach, Jackie Ciconte, who was Delaware's 2002 Female High School Athlete of the Year while playing at Tatnall, and an All-American at Maryland.

"She's such an inspiration for all of us. She's been through what we've been through. She's so relatable, she's amazing."

Natalie's main goal is to just get improve on the field, which she says is a day-to-day process.

"At practice when we do circle drills I always beat up on myself whenever I mess up on the side. But every day I keep improving."
