Caravel's Wolfe - WDEL Male HS Athlete of the Week
| By Sean Greene |

Caravel Academy wrestling Ryan Wolfe is this week's WDEL Male High School Athlete of the Week.
Ryan won the 182-pound weight division of the Beast of the East tournament at the Bob Carpenter Center last weekend. Wolfe won a 3-2 decision over David Reck in the finals. Ryan says Reck was tough.
"I stuck to my moves that I was using all tournament. That was my snap, and I got him with one takedown."
Wolfe was the only Delawarean to bring home a gold this year, and says he felt the energy from his partisan crowd.
"All the Caravel fans were still there and supporting me throughout the whole day. It was a long wait, but they were with me and it was great to have them."
Wolfe is off to an undefeated start this season, and he says a lot of that is due to a tough loss he suffered over the summer.
"Super 32 this summer, I was one round away from placing and the kid pinned me in 15 seconds because I took a dumb shot and he got me. That loss has made me work harder."
Ryan isn't sure where he wants to go to school next year, but he has heard from Division I schools, and says he'd like to get into sports broadcasting thanks to the late voice of the Phils, Harry Kalas.
"He's my favorite because of his voice. It put energy to the game, I thought it was amazing."
