Law Abiding Citizen

At first glance, Law Abiding Citizen is a simple study of good vs. evil taking place in a game of cat and mouse. Underneath it penetrates deeper, asking us to look at ourselves if we were in the terrible situation Gerard Butler’s character finds himself in and the justice system itself.

I don’t agree with Entertainment Weekly when they say pop culture is only interested in Mr. Butler when he takes his shirt off, (although I’m not complaining when he does). Butler is a force to be reckoned with, as he plays good and evil very well.

I’m not sure what is scarier in this film, Gerard Butler’s portrayal of a man with impossible intellect and deadly hands or the implications that our judicial system is not only corrupt but quite possibly obsolete.
