"GAME CHANGE" - The IMPORTANT Question NO ONE IS ASKING!
Yes, there's nothing racist about discussing whether or not Democrats will vote for a "light-skinned" African-American more readily than a man who is darker. There are studies that have demonstrated this. There's nothing racist about noting whether a candidate affects an accent or slang in the hopes it will attract votes. Racism is judging someone by the color of his skin as opposed to the content of their character. The racism in Reid's statement is using the word, "Negro." This word usage denotes a man who sees an individual or class of individuals as being less than himself. Modern language usage is "black" or "African-American." As a Senator paying scriptwriters and listening to constituents for decades, Harry Reid knows this. He uses the word, "Negro" as a disparagement of black people. He views them as being less than equal to himself.
Black Democratic Party commentators know this when they deny the inherent racsim in Reid's words. White and black Republicans rebuked Trent Lott's lauditory statements about Strom Thurmond even though he explained that America's military and economy would be better off if Strom Thurmond had been president while a Dixiecrat. Democrats went for the jugular, insisting Lott was racist. They demanded and got him to resign as Minority Leader. No matter what arguments or excuses they use, any Democrat who supports Reid or even fails to call for his resignation as Senate Majority Leader is a hypocrit on racial issues and a partisan political tool for the Democratic Party. Hello, Donna Brazile, Rep. Barbara Lee, chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus, Rev. Al Sharpton and President Obama who also called for the resignation of Trent Lott.
This is political payback against the Democrats who compelled Trent Lott to resign from his leadership for purely political gain. The people whose reputations should be crushed are those who defend racist Reid while railing against racsim.
Now, the important question no one else is asking: Why did reporters John Heilemann and Mark Halperin decide not to report so many Democrat transgressions and admissions of incompetency during the 2008 campaign, when these revelations could damage the campaigns of Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and other Democrats? Just so they could sell a book? Really? The book wouldn't sell without some stealthy "game-changing" NEWS about the Democratic candidates DURING the campaigns? Really? Did news reports of true gossip and false rumors about Sarah Palin, her daughter and Levi Johnston during the campaign hurt sales of subsequent books about her? Hmmmm?

Hey Rick, please get a clue! The juvenile, petty, political sniping is exactly why you Republicans are no longer in power! Do you think your listeners are stupid enough to think the Republicans are civil rights crusaders standing up against the evil "racist" Harry Reid? Do you think your listeners are so obtuse that they don't recognize your REAL motive is to attack any Democrat, for any reason, to score political points for the Republicans? For once, please give your listeners a little bit of credit and stop insulting our intelligence!

i thought the important question is really how uninformed is obama? did he really ask "'How many times is Biden gonna say something stupid?'" when everyone knows the answer is somewhere near infinity :)
