Al Mascitti came to WDEL in 2005 from The (Wilmington) News Journal, where he spent 25
years as a reporter, editor and columnist covering everything from restaurants and music
to state and local news. A Philadelphia native who grew up in Montgomery County, Pa., he
came to the First State to attend the University of Delaware, where he served as editor
of the student newspaper, The Review. He worked for the Newark Weekly Post and wrote for
the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Delaware page before joining The News Journal.
