VIDEO: St. E's Crystle - WDEL Male HS Athlete of the Week
St. Elizabeth soccer forward Brandon Crystle is this week's WDEL Male High School Athlete of the Week.
Brandon scored the only goal in the Vikings' 1-0 victory over St. Mark's, the first ever win in school history over their Catholic Conference rivals.
Crystle says he was honored to be the one to help conquer the Spartans.
"It's history. It's the first time we've won (over the Spartans), so it means a lot to me, and my team, but also to the school. It brought our spirit up, especially for our upcoming games."
Brandon was also quick to point out that his 13th minute goal only meant there was more pressure on the most important part of his team.
"The defense, they picked it up. They have two center (midfielders) who are great, and our center mids shut them down, and our defense they were spectacular."
The senior, who says he's focusing more on academics rather than athletics for a college choice, says he's looking at strong local business schools.
"I really want to own my own business when I get older, and my dad said he would run it with me."
Crystle says he started playing soccer at age 4 and loves it, and says his dad gave him a memorable peice of advice last year.
"The harder you work, the more lucky you get. Because you work for it, you don't wait for it to happen."
