Milford School District employee charge with theft
A Delaware man has been charged with stealing from a school district following an internal investigation.
Frederic Snowden of Houston was charged with felony theft on Friday, accused of stealing from the Milford School District.
Snowden is now on leave from his job as the district's superintendent of building and grounds.
The News Journal says the charge is part of an ongoing probe into the school district's finances.
Police say Snowden failed to turn over to the district more than $2,300 that came from a high school renovation project.
Police say he used the money on an unauthorized barbecue for school district staff as well as Gatorade and a cooler and gas for his personal vehicle.
