Ten to be inducted into UD Atheltic HOF
Perhaps the most exciting player in University of Delaware football history highlights the 2012 University of Delaware Athletics Hall of Fame class.
Eddie Conti, a wide receiver and kick returner for Tubby Raymond in the 1990's, set 43 school, conference and NCAA records at Delaware and was a consensus first team All-American in 1998.
Also part of the 10 member class are former basketball star Tiara Malcolm, currently an assistant to Tina Martin, Alex Smith, the top faceoff specialist in the history of men's lacrosse and a three-time All-American, and baseball standout Jeff Trout, who made it to Triple A in the Minnesota Twins organization.
Trout is the father of Mike Trout, the Los Angeles Angels star outfielder, who is the likely American League rookie of the year and possible MVP.
The class will be honored on Friday night at the Bob Carpenter Center and recognized at halftime of Saturday's football game with Towson.
