Newark alum joins Orioles' 40-man roster Newark High School alum Zach Clark took another big step towards making the majors when he was added to the Orioles' 40-man roster this morning. The 29-year-old UMBC graduate pitched in 28 games between AA-Bowie and AAA-Norfolk earning a 15-7 record with a 2.78 ERA. His numbers were even better just in Norfolk, when they rise to 5-1 with a 1.75 ERA in 46 1/3 innings. By joining the 40-man roster, Clark would be available to be called up to the Orioles without having to remove another player from the 40-man roster. Also he would be eligible for a potential September call-up when rosters expand. Clark has been with the Orioles organization since signing as a free agent in 2006. |
