VIDEO: St.Elizabeth nearly pulls an upset over St.Marks
St. Elizabeth (5-4) almost pulls away with an upset over highly ranked St. Marks (8-1) Saturday night.
With a little more than six minutes remaining, Vikings' Andre Patton tied the game up at 28 a piece with one of his three touchdowns for the night.
Spartans TJ Brown scored the winning touchdown with 59 seconds left in the game to lift St. Marks 35-28 to seal the victory.
St. E and St. Marks went back-and-forth the entire game.
Patton opened scoring grabbing an interception from Spartans' quarterback Zachary Whitehead.
Spartans' sophomore Markquise Normand knotted the game at 7 with one of his two touchdowns.
The Spartans' took a 21-14 lead to the half, after Brown scored with seconds on the clock.
The momentum would stay on St. Marks' side when Jake Schneider connected with Whitehead on a touchdown reception to extend the lead 28-14.
The Vikings would rally with two touchdowns from Patton in the final minutes, but the Vikings could not stop the Spartans in the red zone.
St. Marks goes on to play Salesianum in a final game of the regular season next week.
