Newark man arrested for armed robberies
A Newark man is under arrest in connection with two armed robberies of a convenience store and a home invasion over the past two months.
Thirty-one year old Louis Rittenhouse of the 100 block of Madison Drive faces charged of robbing the Exxon convenience store on South College Avenue on September 10th and October 14th and a home invasion-style attempted armed robbery on November 6th at a house on Madison Drive.
Newark detectives arrested Rittenhouse after noticing physical similarities between Rittenhouse, who was known by the occupants in the home on Madison Drive, and the suspect in the convenience store holdups.
Detectives also learned that Rittenhouse was arrested in 2007 for a robbery at the same convenience store.
Rittenhouse is being held at Howard Young Prison on $362,000 bail.
