Police say an officer was walking to his personal car after his shift around 2 Sunday morning when he an argument in a courtyard at the Bethel Villa apartment complex on East 5th Street.

A man shouted obscenities, someone fired a shot, and the cop saw Damon McClain get into a car.

Police say McClain was out of breath and seemed nervous, and wouldn't show the officer his hands after he was ordered to do so several times.
