VIDEO: DMA starts strong to defeat Wilmington Christian

DMA used a red-hot start to overwhelm visiting Wilmington Christian 50-40 on Monday night.

Ashlynne Foley hit the first two of her four 3-pointers on the evening in the opening minutes, to help pace the Seahawks to a quick 24-9 advantage after one quarter.

The Warriors settled down in the second, holding DMA to just five points, while cutting the game to 29-17 at intermission.

After an even third quarter which saw DMA's lead extend by one to 37-24, Wilmington Christian opened the fourth on a 10-5 run which following a Kelly Ogle basket made it 42-34. Ogle finished with eight points all in the last eight minutes of the game.

DMA would have all the answers, never letting the lead slip below eight points in the final quarter in improving to 13-3 on the year.

Foley and Renada L'italien paced DMA with 14 points, while Leigh Ann Lennon scored 8 points all in the opening half.

Wilmington Christian (8-7) was led by Joy Hickman's 19 points. Traneigh Triplett added 11.
