EPA picks New Castle for sustainable growth help
The federal Environmental Protection Agency says New Castle is one of 42 communities that will receive help to manage sustainable growth.
The EPA announced Thursday that the 42 communities were chosen from 121 applicants in a competitive process. The EPA says its staff and national experts will conduct workshops to help New Castle achieve its sustainability goals. The city applied for help in protecting community character and quality of life.
EPA Regional Administrator Shawn Garvin says the assistance will help New Castle's leaders make smart choices for growth that will create healthier neighborhoods while improving the local economy.
