A K-9 assists the arrest of a Newark man

After a Newark man was stopped for a traffic violation, a K9 led detectives to more than 170 grams of marijuana.

Wilmington Police say they stopped Edward Malloy on the 700 block of N. Market Street.

The K9, named Rex, alerted the officers to the presence of pot, allegedly kept in a secret compartment.

Malloy was released after posting $3,000 bail.
