Coast Day features largest LEGO ship collection in the world
Come check out the world's largest collection LEGO ships at Coast Day in Lewes this Sunday.
"Those LEGO ships are built as an effort to increase awareness of science, engineering, technology and math that goes along with ocean exploration. We're very excited to have it," says Katy O'Connell, Director of Environmental Public Education at the University of Delaware's College of Earth, Ocean and Environment.
O'Connell says Coast Day is for kids and adults.
"When we mention to individuals that LEGOs will be at Coast Day, I think we get equal enthusiasm from our adult visitors as we do our children visitors," she jokes.
The event is rain or shine and Sunday will seem more like a summer day than a Fall October day.
This year's theme is building resilient coastal communities, so coastal residents can get information on how to track and prepare for hurricanes and other weather events that stem from sea level rise and climate change.
