VIDEO: Caravel holds on to edge Archmere
A missed extra point proved the difference as Caravel held on Friday night for a 20-19 win against Archmere.
The Buccaneers (3-2) started fast as they scored two quick touchdowns, one through the air and the other on the ground putting them up 13-0 after one missed and one good extra point with 2:02 to go in the first quarter. Archmere responded before halftime as quarterback Brian Rogers passed for two touchdowns tying the game up at thirteen after one missed and one good extra point.
Caravel's ground game found their groove again in the fourth as their line opened up hole after hole for running back Aaron Hudson who would break a long 74-yard touchdown run at the 8:35 mark, his second on the night, putting the Bucs on top 20-13 after Maverick Jackson made the extra point.
Archmere (2-3) would not go away as quarterback Brian Rogers slung his third passing touchdown of the night and second to running back Francis McVey with just 45 seconds left in the game. It was just not meant to be though as the Auks would miss the extra point and Caravel went on to win 20-19.
