VIDEO: Hodgson knocks down an undefeated Howard squad
Hodgson's Ray Jones led the Silver Eagles to a 45-0 victory against the Howard Wildcats on Saturday afternoon.
In the opening quarter, Jones proved he could do it all. He scored three rushing touchdowns, kicked extra points, and that was just on offense.
The junior also showed his defensive skills by catching an interception on the 16 yard line.
The quarterback ran touchdowns for 38, 10, and 12 yards to give the Silver Eagles (3-2) the early 20-0 lead with 2:52 left in the first quarter.
In the second, Bilal Nichols scored two touchdowns of his own. Nichols caught touchdown receptions from Jones for 24 and 40 yards.
Before halftime, Hodgson's senior Justin Hardy scored a 42 yard touchdown with 52 seconds left. Hodgson led 39-0 at the break.
With a running clock in motion, Daniel Diggs rushed for an eight yard touchdown in the second half, and the Silver Eagles handed Howard (4-1) its first loss of the season.
