VIDEO: Glasgow football hangs on to beat Charter
Michael Helton's two touchdowns proved just enough as Glasgow held on to beat Charter 14-12 Friday night.
Glasgow led 14-3 going into the fourth quarter, but an Aaron Cook field goal and passing touchdown by Matt Oliver gave the Force a chance to tie with a 2-point conversion.
Oliver's conversion pass went Robert Johnston in the flats, but the Dragons were able to cover and drag him down short of the goal, clinching the victory.
Charter led 3-0 after one quarter on Cook's first field goal of the game, but Glasgow claimed the lead on the ensuing drive when Helton took a direct snap and punched in the Dragons' first points. They missed the 2-point conversion but led 6-3 at halftime.
Helton again took a direct snap and scored his second touchdown of the game in the 3rd quarter, with the Dragons then successfully tacking on the two-point try which would prove to be the difference.
