VIDEO: Hodgson advances to semifinals
Raymond Jones helped Hodgson secure their spot in the semifinals after 38 - 14 win over Howard.
In the first 5 minutes of the first quarter, Hodgson and Howard put 6 on the board. Both teams failed at their two point conversions. Hodgson started to pull away at the end of the quarter when Darius Smith caught a quick pass from Raymond Jones to score a touchdown. The score was 12 - 6.
In the second quarter, Raymond Jones chose the option play, escaped the pressure of Howard and found himself in the end zone to make the score 18 - 6.
In the third quarter, Raymond Jones did not slow down. he scored another touchdown to make the score 26 - 6, Hodgson. Howard's Jeremy Smith forced the interception, but that was not enough to stop Hodgson's momentum.
In the fourth quarter, Hodgson put together another touchdown drive. Raymond Jones landed in the end zone. The score was 32- 6 with 9:50 left in the game. On the next set of downs, Justin Hardy fought for 1st and goal for Hodgson. On the next play, Hodgson scored. This made the score 38 - 6.
Howard made one last run before time ran out. Smith scored the touchdown and the 2-point conversion for the Wildcats to make the final score 38- 14.
Hodgson will move on to the semifinals.
