Williams will appeal to state lawmakers on pothole repair funds
Wilmington Mayor Dennis Williams is hoping to get on top of the city's pothole problem, and he'll appear before state lawmakers soon to make sure there's money to do it.
"I'm going to speak before the bond bill (committee) probably in the next couple of weeks and try to make sure they don't trim off our street suburban road aid. That's one of the things we really need. When we get cut like that, we have to pull from other places to pave our roads, we can't just neglect the roads having this kind of traffic coming through the city," said Williams.
Williams says the price to wait on those repairs is steep, both in terms of additional damage to roads and to vehicles victimized by potholes.
