Massive brawl breaks out at Dover Downs

More than 200 people brawl at Dover Downs.

It happened after midnight Thursday in the casino's parking lot.

Corporal Mark Hoffman with Dover Police tells WDEL the fight started as people were filtering out of Doc Magrogan's bar, which was packed last night.

"We're unsure what the cause of the fight was. We did make two arrests of two male subjects that were fighting each other, and we believe that maybe the crowd mushroomed because of that initial fight," said Hoffman.

19-year-old Lance Chadwick and Christopher Cox of of Brooklyn, New York face charges.

Hoffman tells WDEL all involved may have known each other.

"We believe that the majority of them may be Delaware State University students, but we can't confirm that," said Hoffman.

Danessa Claye, a Delaware State University student, was also arrested.

Police don't believe any weapons were used in the fight, but it took more than a dozen officers from various police agencies to disperse the raucous crowd.

It remains unclear why everyone was fighting.
