Lannan, long-balls help Phils snap 8 game skid

The Phillies snapped their 8 game losing streak with a 7-3 win over the San Francisco Giants.

John Lannan pitched 7 innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 runs and manager Charlie Manuel says Lannan got the job done.

"I felt like he pitched a John Lannan-like game. He got some base-runners and he definitely made pitches when he had to. He got us to a good place in the game."

Carlos Ruiz hit a two-run home run, his first since last September and Michael Young also added a two-run blast.

Game two of the three game set is tonight with Kyle Kendrick on the mound against Chad Gaudin. Pre-game coverage on WDEL starts at 6:30.
