Rehoboth Beach boardwalk project begins
By Associated Press

Reconstruction of Rehoboth Beach's boardwalk is under way.

Crews began demolition of an old concrete section on Monday to make way for a southern yellow pine boardwalk. It's part of a $7.5 million project being paid for with federal stimulus dollars.

The construction work will limit access to the beach and boardwalk at certain areas for visitors.

Boardwalk committee chairman Stan Mills say the boardwalk is expected to be rebuilt and open in time for Memorial Day weekend next year.
