Thome, Mayberry lead Phils to win
Jim Thome and John Mayberry Junior each hit a home run and knocked in 4 as the Phillies scored 9 runs in the first 4 innings, then had to hang on for a 9-8 win over the Minnesota Twins.
Thome's home run was a 466 foot shot over the batter's eye in dead center field.

Cole Hamels wasn't at his best, giving up 7 runs, 6 of them earned in 6 innings....but it was enough for his 9th win of the season.
Jonathan Papelbon got his 17th save in as many attempts.
The Phillies will go for the series win tonight when they send Joe Blanton to the mound against Scott Diamond.
