WDEL File: Newark National poses after winning Del. championship
Newark National's Clayton Hansen came within one batter of a complete game shutout, pitching the Delaware champions to a 5-0 victory over Stony Point, New York Monday.

Hansen struck out 11 while walking just one in a 4-hit performance to boost Newark to a 2-1 record in pool play.

Nick Zegna gave Delaware a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st on an RBI groundout which scored Joe Silan, who had singled.

Danny Miller doubled the lead in the 3rd with a 1-out RBI single to plate Matt Theodorakis.

Newark's main damage came in the 4th as Drew Emory led off with a solo home run on a 3-2 count, and then 4 batters later Theodorakis hammered his first home run of the regionals, a 2-run shot, to give his team the winning margin.

A Newark win over the Pennsylvania champions tomorrow at 7pm would cement a berth in the regional semifinals, the round where Newark was eliminated last year.
