Shots were fired in an armed robbery in Claymont early Tuesday morning.

Delaware State Police say a lone gunman rushed into the Dollar Tree on Philadelphia Pike around 7am just as two employees were opening the store.

The suspect demanded money, then got into a physical struggle and the gunman fired off a couple of shots.

No one was hit and the suspect took off on foot without getting any money.

The male employee suffered minor injuries as a result but did not require treatment.

The suspect is described as a male, around 5'8" and wearing dark clothing and a mask.
