Pettyjohn will appear on ballot as Republican nominee
Brian Pettyjohn will appear on the ballot on Election Day as the Republican nominee for voters in the state Senate's 19th District in Georgetown.
The Republican Party filed suit in Delaware's Chancery Court to have his name added to the ballot after state Elections Commissioner Elaine Manlove said he would remain as the write-in candidate.
Pettyjohn became the Republican-backed candidate after Eric Bodenweiser abruptly suspended his campaign and was subsequently indicted on child sex abuse charges.
Pettyjohn faces Democrat Jane Hovington in the General Election.
