By Frank Gerace 5:42pm, October 30, 2012 - Updated 12:27am, October 31, 2012Delmarva Power crews are working as quickly as possible to restore electrical service to customers hit hard by Sandy.
That's the word from company President Gary Stockbridge, who said in a Tuesday afternoon conference call that crews first address downed wires, other life-threatening situations, and public health facilities.
"Our second priority is our transmission line, making sure that those transmission outages that are often affecting large groups of customers are taken care of. We then move down into our substations and our main distribution lines which would be serving large groups of customers. Next is our secondary lines serving neighborhoods, and then we end up in our priority with service lines going to individual homes and businesses."
Stockbridge expects 90 percent of Delmarva customers should be back on line by about midnight Wednesday.
Customers in some southern parts of Delmarva may not have their service back till Friday.
