Tractor trailer hits Hockessin teen, killing him instantly

A teen is dead after being struck by a tractor trailer in Hockessin.
It happened early Thursday morning at Lancaster Pike north of Schoolhouse Road.
Police say 18-year-old James Vandegrift of Hockessin ran from the sidewalk into the northbound lane of Route 41 when he was struck and killed instantly.
So far, no charges have been filed.
