Terrence West scored on a 3 yard run in overtime to give the Towson Tigers a 34-27 overtime win over Delaware, ending the Blue Hens chances for the post-season.
On Delaware's turn with the ball, Towson picked off a Trent Hurley pass at the goal line on 4th down, ending the game.
The 4th quarter was a wild affair with the Tigers taking the lead on a long drive that ended with a 2 yard touchdown pass from Grant Enders to Emmanuel Holder with 44 seconds remaining, to go up 27-24.
But Delaware wasn't done. The Blue Hens went 43 yards to the 23 in 41 seconds and Sean Baner sent the game into overtime with a 40 yard field goal into the wind.
The loss drops Delaware to 5-4 overall and 2-4 in the CAA. Towson goes to 5-4 and 4-2 in conference play.
The Blue Hens are Richmond next week.
