Area gas prices barely affected by Sandy
By Jim Hilgen

In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, Delaware motorists see the price at the pump continue to fall.

Triple A Mid Atlantic reports the cost of a gallon of unleaded regular dropped 7 cents last week to a statewide average of $3.51.

Spokesperson Jana Tidwell says gas prices could spike in the short term, but the longer term trend calls for more savings at the pump.

She says motorists could see gas prices fall by 40 cents through the rest of the year.
