Storm damage forces closure of Sussex County road
State transportation officials say a Sussex County road damaged by Superstorm Sandy will be closed for about a year.
Officials said Friday that West Line Road, located southeast of Selbyville on the Delaware-Maryland state line, has been closed because of the failure of a small culvert and severe damage to a second culvert.
DelDOT said it will need about a month to repair a small culvert over Georgetown Branch at West Line Road about two miles west of Hudson Road.
But officials say a culvert over Buntings Branch about a half of a mile south of the intersection of Route 54 is closed until further notice. DelDOT said it will need to design, send out for bids, and construct a concrete structure for the culvert.
