Car crashes into Felton home
Updated Saturday, November 10, 2012 - 5:42pm
A Felton home has been condemned after a car came crashing into it Saturday morning.
It was just after 11 a.m. when 22-year-old Carlot Stinvil drove his 1997 Nissan Maxima off the roadway of US-13 into a mailbox, over a ditch, across two private driveways and through a wooden fence post before it entered the yard of 7497 South DuPont Highway.
Stinvil then hit a dirt berm, causing the vehicle to become airborne, sliding across the back of a '95 Lexus parked in the driveway and finally coming to a halt inside the house.
Of the three people inside the home at the time of the crash, only one was transported to Kent General Hospital; a 55-year-old woman for non-life threatening injuries.
Stinvil was also treated for her non-life threatening injuries. He was cited for inattentive driving, driving without a valid license and no proof of insurance.
The structure was condemned due to the significant damage.
