Wilmington police say a man, who was involved in a domestic incident, has been arrested for possessing two handguns.

Police say officers responding to a 911 call for a domestic violence complaint on the 1000 block of Elm Street at 1:07pm Sunday spoke to a 42-year-old woman who said she was assaulted by her boyfriend, Kem Briscoe-Bey, who fled the scene.

The victim informed police that the suspect had two handguns in the residence and the ensuing investigation revealed he was prohibited from owning possessing the weapons due to prior felony convictions and probation status.

Officers found a .32 caliber revolver and .45 caliber handgun in the home and took Briscoe-Bey into custody--he was carrying two rounds of ammunition on him at the time.

He faces charges of offensive touching, possession of a firearm of ammunition by a person prohibited and a deadly weapon and has been committed to the Howard Young Correction Institution in lieu of $16,000 bail.
