Outside the Chick-Fil-A in Bear, the trunklid of a classic 1973 Delaware State Police cruiser is open awaiting food donations.

The food drive benefiting the Sunday Breakfast Mission is being organized by the Ronnie Williams Foundation with the help of Chick-Fil-A and the Delaware State Police.

Foundation head Jennifer Hawkins says any food donation is greatly appreciated.

"If it's Thanksgiving related food, that's even better. Stuffing, all the side fixings, canned food that would work. Particularly just to fill the need for the homeless and the needy that go to the Sunday Breakfast Mission."

Hawkins says this drive was hastily thrown together and she's hopeful a Christmas food drive will reap real rewards for area homeless.

Food donations to help Sunday Breakfast Mission can be made through Wednesday night by going to the Chick-Fil-A at the Christinana Mall or State Police Troop 2.
