Man charged with robbing estranged girlfriend

A Philadelphia man faces charges after he allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend in the parking lot of a Dover Walmart, then tried to run away from police while carrying a handgun.

The argument, apparently over money, began in the back seat of a car after the two had been given a ride.

State Police say Keith Denmark struck the woman in the head, dragged her from the vehicle, pinned her to the ground and ran off with her cell phone.

Police spotted Denmark in the parking lot of a propane dealer, and during the pursuit he pulled a 45-caliber handgun from his pants and threw it under a vehicle.

Denmark was arrested without further incident.

He faces charges including robbery, weapons offenses and resisting arrest.
