DeAndre Davis scored twice for the Spartans in route to a 21-7 victory in the opening round of the High School playoffs over Cape Henlopen.

Davis' 26-yard catch and run broke the game open 14-0 in the 1st quarter. He later scored on a game-clinching 35 yard punt return for a touchdown with 3 minutes left.

Michael Catalano got the Spartans on the scoreboard on their opening drive getting in from 4 yards out. A Viking missed field goal at the end of the half kept the Spartan lead at 14-0 going into halftime.

St. Mark's defense stood strong all night stopping the Vikings on two 4th downs in the red zone. One of the drives halted at the Spartan 2 yard line, with the other stalling at the 13. Cape Henlopen had the ball 7 times in Spartan territory and only were able to capitalize once.

Next up for the Spartans will be a rematch with Salesianum at 7:30 next Saturday on WDEL. The Sals won the regular season matchup between the teams last week 7-2.
