Kessel replaces David Blowman, who has moved on to Dover to serve as Deputy Secretary of Education.
Superintendent Mark Holodick says Kessel and the new perspectives he brings to the position is the right man for the job.
"Who will look at things differently and support our mission in this district. And as Scott has indicated tonight when he spoke, he is well aware of what our mission is in meeting the current educational challenges, and most importantly meeting the needs of kids," says Holodick.
