A Georgia company is recalling almost 36,000 pounds of chicken nuggets and patties sent to stores across the U.S. because the food may contain pieces of plastic.

The USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Thursday that Suzanna's Kitchen is recalling cases of Freebird Fully-Cooked Chicken Nuggets, Freebird Fully-Cooked Gluten-Free/Soy-Free Chicken Patties and Fully-Cooked Chicken Nuggets.

The nuggets and patties were processed September 6th of last year and March 15th of this year, and have use-by dates of September 6, 2013 and March 15th, 2014.

Consumer complaints led to the recall, and no reports of injuries or illness have come in so far.

FSIS and the company think the plastic may have come from the bag the chicken was in before processing.
