| VIDEO: Highlights of Ursuline vs. Cape Henlopen | Ursuline's suffocating defensive press helped overcome a brief sluggish start, as they dominated Cape Henlopen 61-16 in the Raiders' home opener Friday night.
Cape (0-2) led 5-0 three minutes into the game thanks to early scoring by forward Kadijah Doughty, but after Imani Coles' basket at the 3:10 mark put Ursuline on the board, the Raiders put on relentless full-court pressure, forcing numerous Cape turnovers in a 19-0 run that took just 4:10.
The visiting Vikings scored the opening basket of the second quarter when Doughty took advantage of a nice inside pass by Alyssa Miller, but Ursuline proceeded to go on another 13-0 run to eat up most of the rest of the half including three pointers by Hahn and freshman Miranda Hill. Ursuline led 37-12 at the break.
The second half Ursuline (1-1) substituted liberally, giving several of their young players some valuable varsity experience.
Hahn led all scorers with 22 points, while Mary Abram scored 7 points for the Raiders. Doughty led the way for Cape Henlopen with 7 points as well.
Ursuline returns to action Thursday night against Concord at home, while Cape Henlopen will travel to face Indian River Tuesday evening.
