| VIDEO: Highlights of Archbishop Spalding and Bishop Ford | Archbishop Spalding broke open a tight game with solid interior offense, leading the Cavaliers to a 62-51 victory over Bishop Ford in the Diamond State Classic Main Draw Championship Sunday night.
The school from Severn, Md. trailed 19-17 following a three-pointer by Bishop Ford's Giolibeth Perez, but quickly responded with an 8-0 run that sparked a 25-21 halftime lead.
Bishop Ford, located in Brooklyn, kept it tight in the 3rd quarter, but could get no closer than the four point deficit before pressure defense and offensive rebounding finally wore down the smaller Lady Falcons.
Spalding's Jade Sciafe, who has signed with UNC-Greensboro, was named to the First State Orthopaedics Cup all-tournament team.
