Carper weighs in on lack of "cliff" deal
By Frank Gerace

Senator Tom Carper (D)
Senator Carper's office Tuesday released a statement explaining why Delaware's senior U-S senator voted against the fiscal cliff deal.

The Democrat says the deal isn't the grand bargain he and many other senators hoped for.

Carper cites a lack of entitlement reform, and the failure to significantly increase Federal revenues.

Carper claims Republicans in the House are stubbornly refusing to consider increasing taxes on anyone, including those Americans who can most afford tax hikes.
