WPD's Capt. Dietz to take Public Works job
By Frank Gerace

Captain Marlyn Dietz is retiring after 31 years with the Wilmington police department.

Dietz joined the force in 1982, and served in several capacities as he moved up through the ranks, including Patrol Sergeant, Patrol Lieutenant and Captain of the Uniformed Services and Communications Divisions.

Dietz will officially retire following a ceremony Friday, but he'll be keeping busy--he's taken a job as an Administrative Engineer with the city's Public Works department.

Dietz' wife Nancy, a former Inspector who retired from the WPD December 17th, has been appointed by Governor Markell to head the state's Division of Youth Rehabilitative Services.

She'll start that job next month.
