A Wilmington traffic stop led to a heroin bust Monday night.

Officers stopped a car traveling in the 300 block of West 4th Street, saying the car's registration had expired.

They smelled marijuana as they got close to the car, and told the two men inside, Kwame Redmond, and Frank Minatee, to get out of the vehicle.

Police found Redmond carrying 301 bags of heroin valued at more than $1,500, along with a bag of crack cocaine.

Officers also learned both men had outstanding warrants for their arrests.

Minatee received multiple traffic summonses, Redmond was released after posting more than $30,000 bail.
