By Peter MacArthur 12:19pm, January 30, 2013Firefighters in Delaware and worldwide could get better protection from flames and heat as part of collaboration between DuPont and an apparel company.
DuPont is teaming up with LION to develop gear that protects first responders from the inside out.
It uses Kevlar, Nomex and thermal liners to help produce firefighting gear that is more form-fitting and less hard to maneuver in for personnel.
The companies have worked on a number of projects in the past.
DuPont says Nomex can withstand temperatures up to 700 degrees.
The new gear is being tested with fire departments.
