VIDEO: Highlights of Ursuline vs. St. Mark's

Ursuline's defense held St. Mark's scoreless in the opening quarter, and rolled to a 38-14 Catholic Conference victory Thursday night.

It took the Raiders three minutes to find their opening basket, a three-pointer by Laura Hurff, but their defense put the clamps down on a frustrated St. Mark's squad.

After Adrianna Hahn hit a three-pointer and Kailyn Kampert hit a transition mid-range jumper, Ursuline found itself up 10-0 after the opening frame.

Kampert added one more basket in the opening seconds of the second quarter before Haley Schweizer drive through the Raiders defense nine minutes into the game to break up the shutout.

St. Mark's would get as close as 16-6 after another driving basket by Schweizer, but could get no closer.

Meanwhile, St. Mark's defense also proved problematic for Ursuline, especially top scorer Adrianna Hahn who was held to six points while struggling to find room behind impressive defense by Claudia Seemans and Schweizer.

Hahn's teammates came to the rescue, with Mary Abram scoring 12 points, Hurff hitting 7, and Kampert adding six more.

Schweizer led the Spartans with five points.
