Non-profits get $37K to tackle childhood obesity

The Next Generation of the Delaware Community Foundation is handing out more than $35,000 in grants to combat childhood obesity.

Among the recipients are the Henrietta Johnson Medical Center, the YMCA the Delaware Nature Society, Girls on the Run, and the Delaware Adolescent Program.

The grants range from $7,000 to $10,000 and focus on education, physical activity, and wellness. Next year's grants from Next Gen will focus on supporting STEM education
