Wesley hoping for D3 Tournament Berth
By Sean Greene

After falling in overtime in the CAC championship game Saturday night, Wesley will have to sweat out Selection Monday to see if they can earn their third trip to the Division III Basketball National Tournament.

The 20-7 Wolverines wrapped up their campaign with a 79-78 overtime loss at top-seed St. Mary's (Md.) Saturday night. The 14th-ranked Seahawks only lost 3 games during the season, one of which was a 68-54 defeat in Dover on January 12.

Wesley is led by Smyrna High School alum Paul Reynolds, who scored 27 points in the championship game loss. The Wolverines earned trips to the Division III Tournament by winning the 2009 CAC Championship, and received an at-large bid the following year.

There are 19 "Pool C" bids available for teams who don't win their automatic-qualifying conference. Wesley has been in and out of the D3hoops.com the past few weeks.

NCAA.com is scheduled to release the field of 62 (yes, 62) Monday at 12:30pm.
