State police say they're investigating a vehicle crash last month that led to the death of an 80-year-old man from Bear.

It happened little before 2:30 p.m. on February 14, when a vehicle on Wrangle Hill Road, driven by 76-year-old Joan McConchie of Bear and her husband, William McConchie, was struck by a car turning left toward Rue Madora.

The couple was transported to Christiana Hospital, where they were both treated and released, but William McConchie later died three days after the accident on February 17 from an internal injury sustained during the crash.

The driver of the second vehicle, 33-year-old Joseph Starkey of Wilmington was given a traffic summons for failing to signal while turning left.

The investigation is ongoing.
